How it Works

When our customers have orders ready for a
shipment, US Cold Storage goes into action to consolidate and save money on transporting these goods. Our customer service representatives need to receive shipping orders from our customers two days prior to the ship dates. The less-than-truckload (LTL) orders are consolidated into volume shipments or pools. USCS prepares all shipping documents, arranges transportation and acts as your shippers agent for all pooled shipments. Transportation charges are paid by USCS and each shippers portion is billed to our customer, reflecting the savings of a large volume shipment. The savings for each client in a pool average about 20 percent on each shipment.

It’s our goal to ship all orders as part of a pool. Each pool is analyzed by our traffic department, and individual shipments that cannot be pooled will be shipped alone via the best available carrier at the prevailing rates.
